Let
me start at the beginning, I was first drawn into RC by my wife,
she bought me a car one Christmas and this let to the usual addiction
that we modellers seem to get.
I
quickly got into planes, enjoying to fly leisurely stress free
things rather than 3D looney tune models, as I get enough stress
at home with my four boys.
From
there I started to import my own kits from a manufacturer in China
but found after shelling out a lot of money, that there are a
lot of bad kits coming out of that country, but did eventually
come good with one who has given me exclusive rights to his kits.
I started to sell a few on Ebay and quickly sold out and from
there decided that this was my way forward.
I
set up my website after hours of frustration, as I have no training
whatsoever with computers, so have fumbled my way through.
Having
spent most of my working life working for PLC's as a superstore
manager, I have plenty of experience working with and talking
to people from all walks of life, and there is nothing I like
more than to talk about modelling especially planes.
I
used to run Radio Control Zone in Weymouth, and found this to
be very successful. However I decided to sell up and emigrate
to Spain and take it easy for a while. This was possibly the silliest
move I ever made, and it was decided that the schooling was not
up to scratch for my boys, so we then returned to the East Midlands.
After
working for another PLC for a while as a trouble shooter for problem
stores, I realised that I wanted to be my own boss once more.
I
decided last year that I wanted to return to my home town of Weymouth,
and have pulled all mine and my wife's resources together to be
able to open a fairly large model shop. This is due to open the
3rd week of this month, so I still have plenty of stress ahead
over the next few weeks.
I
will be stocking a very good selection of artf kits for all to
choose from, and these include a stunning new Cessna 337 Skymaster
which is again exclusive to me in the UK.
