Press
Release from Flair Models Limited
Many customers will
be aware that Flair Products Ltd went into voluntary liquidation
in April. This saddened many who appreciated the fine range of products
available from this unique UK distributor.
The assets of the
company have been purchased by a new business team and Flair will
be open for business again from 23rd May 2005.
The prime objective
of the new team will be to restore Flair's once highly respected
reputation for good quality products sold at a fair price with prompt
delivery from stock. To kick start this rebirth we have employed
the services of two well known individuals previously associated
with Flair.
Dudley Pattison, original
founder of Flair, will be charged with restoring the key values
of good service, supply from stock, and the reinstatement of the
famous Flair range of kits. Dudley will adopt a hands on approach
and will be a high profile face at future Flair events. Richard
Smart, ex. design director for Flair, is engaged to increase the
product base and to ensure that Flair can supply not just an airframe
but all the necessary accessories as well. Richard is also working
on a number of new products that will be launched later this year.
It is our intention to retain favorites from the Flair range and
to develop/source new and exciting products for the future. New
ARTFs will be introduced regularly and traditional items such as
the Scout range, the Classic range etc., Spectrum paint, wheels,
decals, canopies, accessories, etc. will all be standard stock items.
You can keep up to
date with Flair's new developments by visiting www.flairmodels.co.uk.
Here you will find details of exciting new products, the complete
stock range, and masses of helpful information about our products
so that you will be informed before purchasing. Flair's range will
be available through all model shops listed on our website, in the
event you cannot find stock of what you seek, or you cannot visit
a shop locally, products will be available from the Flair online
shop, or they can be ordered direct from the factory by phone,
fax or email etc.
The business team
would like to assure all customers of our commitment to the above
objectives and would like to thank all those modellers and traders
who have contacted us to express their support.
Flair Business Team.
A
Letter From Dudley Pattison
Dean Gibbs has purchased the assets of Flair Products Ltd. Dean
is an energetic thirty something modeller
who already has a very successful business unrelated to the model
trade. A new company has been formed,
Flair Models Ltd, that will trade under the name of just simply
Flair.
The new head of Flair has a very strong desire to get the company
back on its feet again and he has dragged
me back to employment, kicking and screaming, to help him achieve
his aim.
Dean
is building his new team at the moment, some old faces amongst the
new. Paul Bardoe is one of the new faces at Flair but Paul is by
no means new to the modelling industry, having worked for some of
the biggest trade names in the past.
Richard Smart, ex. design director for Flair, is engaged to increase
the product base and to ensure that Flair
can supply not just an airframe but all the necessary accessories
as well. Richard is also working on a number of new products that
will be launched later this year.
On a personal note I have to say that I was a little upset at the
turn of events. Every effort is being made by
Dean, and his team to get Flair back on track in the shortest possible
time. There is a lot of work to do and
the fix will not be instant. The few calls we have made so far to
suppliers and retailers have all been
answered in a most positive manner. It is nice to know that no blame
has been attached to me for
recent events!
The company Flair Direct will close, the website will
return to being the Flair website. On the website all
retailers who intend to support Flair will be listed so that browsing
modellers can find their nearest Flair
stockist. Only when a modeller cannot obtain their Flair item from
their local shop will Flair supply direct. The intention is to return
to the state of actually having in stock what is depicted in the
catalogue, thats quite novel isnt it? Some lines that
are outside direct control will be dropped to help achieve this.
Heres hoping for a return to calmer skies!
Regards
Dudley Pattison
