Nexus’
Sandown Model Symposium definitely will go ahead in June, despite
the foot and mouth outbreak.
Many concerned readers have been calling our office, writing in
and posting messages on the website concerned at the lack of information
given about the situation, but fears can be allayed following
official conformation from the racecourse authorities that there
are no plans to drop any events. Steve Brice, General Manager,
commented “with the Exhibition and Conference Centre based, as
it is, at Sandown, we are not expecting to be affected by the
current foot and mouth epidemic. We are reassuring all companies
who have booked our facilities, and indeed those planning to visit
any such events, that the Centre is fully operational.”
Due
to its location in Esher, the racecourse is closer to town than
country, making it a virtually safe venue. With model flying cancelled
in most parts of the country, the Symposium will provide, no doubt,
a welcome chance for modellers to get out and about.
